New recruiting firm’s distinctive plum
Ride van will offer shelter from the elements, transporting show
attendees in comfort and style during OR
White Salmon, WA – plum, a recruiting firm
focused on connecting innovative sport and outdoor brands with
the most promising and adventurous talent in the field, will help
“relieve the pain” of Winter OR attendees by offering
free transportation between hotels and show locations with their
cozy and cool plum Ride van. Passengers will
be treated to various items for trade show pain relief, while
riding in comfort to and from trade show events. Any show attendee
is welcome to flag down the plum Ride for a quick
lift– look for the distinctive ski rack leaves – and
OR attendees can also reserve transportation to and from the airport
in advance by emailing plumride@thinkplum.net (reservations will
be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis).
plum
(formerly Global Brand Search) was co-founded by Lori Harrod and
Betsy Curtin, recruiting industry veterans who share a straightforward,
results-oriented approach grounded in highly responsive, personal
service, to both client companies and candidates. The website,
www.thinkplum.net, offers a variety of tools for brands and talent
to connect, including a job board where companies can post openings
and job seekers can conduct searches free of charge.
“We
chose the name plum because we wanted to convey
from the outset that we’re offering a different experience,”
said Lori Harrod, plum Co-founder and Partner.
“We’re not only interested when there is an active
search. Our focus is on helping companies and candidates make
the best connections on an ongoing basis, which is why we created
the free job board on our website and are incorporating tools
to help people develop their careers and expand their talent pool.”
“This
industry is anything but traditional,” added Betsy Curtin,
plum Co-founder and Partner. “We wanted
to provide an approach that matched.”
Lori
and Betsy met when they were both working at Generator Group and
discovered a powerful chemistry between Lori’s ability to
see the big picture and Betsy’s obsessive attention to detail,
resulting in the formation of plum. Lori has
spent the past twelve years bringing great people into companies
like Adidas, Lucy, Sara Lee Branded Apparel, New Balance, Brooks
Sports, Keen, Yakima, Hanna Anderson, Nike, Moving Comfort, Umbro,
Transitions for Health, Timberland, Reebok, Oakley, Intel, IBM,
MCI, Swiss Bank, Perot Systems, Chicago Board of Trade and Kaiser
Permanente. Betsy has maintained a close virtual community with
an extensive list of apparel designers, footwear designers, retail
marketing talent and brand managers. Recently, she has filled
the following positions for major players in the outdoor industry:
Apparel Designer, Technical Designer, Footwear Designer and Developer,
Apparel Product Line Manager, Category Manager, Event Marketing,
Retail Marketing Manager, Director of HR, Brand Manager and Director
of Sales. Both Lori and Betsy are very active in the Outdoor Industries
Women’s Coalition (OIWC). Lori is a Board Member, serves
on the Membership Committee and has started a Portland area chapter.
Betsy serves on the Professional Development Committee, where
she is spearheading one of the organization’s new initiatives
to help better develop talent from outside the industry.
